GLOWING GHOST YOU'LL NEED: One 45-inch square of fabric or a pillowcase Crayons or markers Scissors 1 large paper bag Fabric paint or tempera paint Extra-tacky white crafts glue or white crafts glue Beads, buttons, glitter, or sequins 1 hat or headband STEP 1 First put the fabric over your head. Have an adult carefully mark eye holes with a crayon. Then take the fabric off your head and use scissors to cut out the eye holes. Fold the fabric into a triangle with the eyes in the front. And put a paper bag between the 2 layers of fabric. STEP 2 Use fabric paint to draw a face on the front of the fabric. If you like, draw a design on the fabric, too. STEP 3 For the costume decorations, glue beads onto the fabric. To wear the costume, place the fabric over your head. Hold it in place by wearing a hat or headband. Boooo! You've made a glowing ghost. SOME COOL IDEAS: Be sure to have an adult help you do this project. Take these extra precautions to ensure a safe and fun event: -- Mark and cut all holes before wearing the costume. -- Cut all holes larger than you think you need. A bigger hole will ensure kids can see safely. -- Make sure to create holes for a child to breathe through (nose and mouth). -- Do not tie the costume in place. Ties could get caught and harm the child. Printed from Cool Crafts ©1994 Meredith Corporation and Multicom Publishing
